With Christmas and New Year's behind us, it is now that time again to begin thinking about and scheduling your ASL class for the Spring 2012 semester. If you are interested in taking either ASL I or Intro to ASL, please email me at racheldaysigns@gmail.com or call me at (316) 519-4004. Exciting News for ASL Practice at Home!

As a teacher (and as an interpreter,) http://www.aslpro.com/ is one of my favorite websites to tell people about. Their website features an ASL online dictionary, fingerspelling practice, an oppurtunity to quiz yourself online, and much more.

Scheduling a Day and Time

Interested in scheduling a class with Rachel? It's easy!

Please email me what days of the week and what times are best for you, your family or your small group of friends. As I receive other small group's days and time preferences, I will try to match up your family or group with another family or group; first, in order to help pass on better group discounts to you, as well as to provide a slightly larger group setting that will better aid each student's learning. As classes are scheduled, I will post them here, so that you can see if that time works for you and your group. IF, however, you would prefer to have a small class with just your group or family, please feel free to message me or reply to this post and ask me about the availability of a specific time and day of the week. I hope this helps to clarify how to go about scheduling yourself, your group, or your family for an ASL class today!

A Small Taste...

I want to give my prospective students a small taste of what you will learn when taking my American Sign Language Class. Below are the letters of the alphabet in ASL, but we will be learning much more than just the letters. We will also be learning how to understand a word receptively (one that is fingerspelled to you,) as well as playing many expressive games (where you are spelling words to someone else) and learning helpful strategies to improve both your receptive and expressive skills. Enjoy this sneak peak, and while you are at it...go ahead and start practicing!
